Chase Jarvis: The Consequences of Creativity
By Aggie Villanuevareported by Aggie Villanueva
“I was recently invited to speak to the Art Director’s Club of Denver and the ASMP about creativity, and subsequently delivered that keynote two weeks ago. This video is a recording of that talk. Hope it strikes a chord with you” Chase Jarvis

This video is the entire Keynote address, in other words quite lengthy, but I highly recommend watching the entire video.
Who should watch it? What kind of artists?
Any and all artists. Yes, Chase Jarvis is an advertising photographer, but his principles apply to every visual artist.
Chase’s words denote a voice for our times. I haven’t been so excited about the possibilities open to me to get my work “out there” since I began studying under Joanna Penn’s Author 2.0 modules, and Beate Chelette, the Photography Business Success Coach, two cutting edge ladies who have opened a new world of creative options to me.
Chase speaks in depth about the process of advertising and marketing, with no get rich quick banter, and his basis of the place of creativity in today’s world cross over all genres. Without further delay, here are a few sneak previews of what you will learn in Chase’s keynote address video.
QUOTES FROM CHASE JARVIS
“All of us are publishers. That has never happened before. Be your own publisher. Make stuff. Share stuff. Really, it’s that easy….
“We’re in a very very special time. Never before, to my knowledge, have people who created content and people who distributed content been the same. And that can be individuals now…. That’s incredible. We want creativity and we want it now.… The world is ready for creativity…. It really is our time….
“Sharing now is so different than sharing before. You have a voice. You never had a voice before. You don’t have to wait for someone else to validate your work to get it out in the world. This is a remarkable time. It’s the democratization of the media….
“I’m not prescribing an easy path, but I’m prescribing a path everyone can take.”
